I really liked it, but I was curious about whether the final released version was different enough to make it worth seeking out. Sounds like it is.

Re: We Ask You: What Are Your Favorite Metal Guitar Solos?!

My favourites are here:

I'll start by saying this: the manner of my response is dictated entirely by the tone of the original comment. I assume you're referring to 'Guest' from below, whose moronic diatribe was worthy only of the same in return. You've been fairly polite, if not a little dismissive, so to you I'll be pleasant.

That said, I'd like to know where exactly I mentioned anything about the genre of this band. I did indeed speak about musical composition (or lack thereof). I didn't mention the production because it wasn't worth mentioning (it was fine, if memory serves, and I'm no expert). I mentioned the lyrics (they were bland). I'm not sure what promotion has to do with a music review, and if is artwork really worth mentioning unless it's either a masterpiece or god-awful?

I won't tell you to start your own blog, no. I have no reference point as to whether you do have "plenty" but it wouldn't be right of me to question that without proof. Nevertheless, Inhumed is right. Why can others have an opinion and not me? What's so illegitimate about mine? That's exactly what reviewing is.

Re: And You Thought Converge Lost Their Touch?

Maybe the video doesnt do it justice, but i thought the vocals were crap. granted, I didnt listen to the whole thing, but i skipped around to most of the singing parts, and it sounded like he was saying the same thing overrrr and oveeerrrr. It must be a slap in the face to the rest of the guys who wrote some amazing music for One. That's not to say that a significant part of my appreciation of Tesseract isn't due to the vocals, but the band didn't have any choice about losing their vocalist. Hopefully people will move on pretty quick, what with the plethora of other pies Dan currently has his fingers in.

In a way, I'm looking forward to seeing the back of the songs from the Concealing Fate EP/One, no matter how much I love them. As I understand it, this acoustic EP was already in the pipeline, but redoing old songs with new vocals has only served to cause a rift between the Tesseract fans.

The untitled demo with Elliot's vocals on it is sublime in my opinion, so the quicker the guys in Tesseract can move on to newer pastures the better I say. All this being said, I'm sure Perspective will be another enjoyable stepping stone in Tesseract's journey to the upper echelons as you put it.

Re: And You Thought Converge Lost Their Touch?

One of the best vocalist I have ever heard.
